Southwest allows small cats and dogs into cabins on domestic flights. Pets must be in an approved carrier that can fit under a seat. They charge a pet fare, and reservations fill on a first-come basis. Southwest airlines does not permit pets within cargo, however; service animals are accepted when accompanied with proper documentation.
